LiDAR

The LiDAR project is extending Oracle 11g Spatial storage, analysis and manipulation capabilities for 3D LiDAR point cloud data:

• Efficiently view, query and analyse large 3D point clouds
• Building an API (Application Programmers Interface)- extending Oracle 11g Spatial capabilities
• To interface with Visualisation, GIS and data management applications
• Path to viable full 3D City Modelling

The key output of the LiDAR Project is to enable the storage, manipulation and analysis in real-time of integrated 3D spatial data on Oracle 11g Spatial database, with the focus on geometrically accurate 3D LiDAR point clouds.

This project was a partnership between NDRC and University College Dublin.
