NDRC announces new Summer 2017 Investment Programme
Successful digital companies can secure initial investment of between €30,000 and €100,000
22 March, 2017 – NDRC, the investor in early stage digital companies, has announced the launch of its Summer 2017 Investment Programme for startups. In addition to an initial cash investment of between €30,000 and €100,000 per venture, the NDRC Accelerator Programme provides strategic business development advice and intensive mentoring by experts in digital enterprises, innovation, finance, investment, marketing and communications. Entry to all NDRC programmes is competitive and initial applications should be made by 9th April through www.ndrc.ie.
Over 50% of the companies NDRC invests in go on to receive follow on investment, allowing them to continue on their path to growth. NDRC’s portfolio of digital companies over the last ten years includes Nuritas, Logentries, Bizimply, Boxever and SilverCloud. These companies went on to receive follow on investment from international investors including Facebook co-founder Eduardo Saverin, Bono and others. typically less than 10% of those who apply to NDRC secure a place.
NDRC is currently ranked as the No. 1 University Business Accelerator in Europe and no.2 University Business Accelerator in the world by the international benchmarking group UBI Global.
NDRC CEO, Ben Hurley said, “We invest in exceptional startup teams who are at the early stages of developing a business proposition of global scale. A digital technology focus does not necessarily mean a founder has to have a background in technology, it means they have a digitally based solution to a problem. As a result, we are looking for founders from a variety of backgrounds – industry, corporate and research”.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to pitch to NDRC between April 15 and April 22 and offers will be made in the first week of May. The Accelerator Programme will then commence week beginning June 5th. NDRC has a mandate from the State (Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment) to make commercial investments, ensuring that digital entrepreneurship is at the centre of Ireland’s economic agenda.
