NDRC’s Pre – Commercialisation Programme for researchers begins today.
NDRC’s Pre – Commercialisation Programme for researchers begins today. Run as a collaborative partnership with SFI Research Centres – the Irish Photonic Integration Research Centre and the Connect Research Centre -the aim of the programme is to help researchers actively prepare for commercialisation funding and pre-seed investment.
Over a sixteen-week period, the NDRC team will be working with the researchers to identify market challenges, helping them understand the value of the customer discovery and validation process and to explore the application of business model design to their research. The programme will also offer opportunities for researchers to meet entrepreneurs and expand their networks in the digital startup sector.
Commercial Director with NDRC, Gary Leyden said: “By applying the NDRC methodology, our aim is to help researchers become immersed in an entrepreneurial frame of mind… to understand more clearly what a commercial opportunity looks like, help direct their research capabilities toward large market challenges and to prepare them for the next step of their journey to Enterprise Ireland Commercialisation funding, and on to pre-seed investment.”
The programme will be delivered in two locations, Tyndall National Institute in Cork and NDRC in Dublin. The final showcase event will be held at NDRC on 14 June 2017.
