'Launch Pad', NDRC's Entrepreneurial Internship Programme, is a three month accelerator programme targeted at emerging start-up promoters with strong academic links. Modeled in part on the globally renowned Y-Combinator initiative in Silicon Valley, the programme assists individuals and/or teams (maximum of 3 members per team) through the provision of:
- Incubation space for a 3 month project at NDRC
- Project mentoring including weekly workshops, seminars and presentations over the duration of the programme.
- Financial assistance of up to €20,000 per project
The inaugural Launch Pad Programme runs from January 5th 2010 to April 9th 2010.
Projects supported by Launch Pad include:
- Cloudsplit Cost control for your Cloud spend.
- Digital Demigods develops market changing networking technology. Allowing Independent developers to rapidly add online-play with friends across the globe. (Apple iPhone version available soon
- Glidebooks is a new instant activity sharing service that addresses the cost and complexity of managing a mobile workforce. Glidebooks is designed to improve the sharing of information between a mobile workforce, back-office operations and customers.
- Ketchup is a web app for storing meeting notes. It's designed to be an easy to use, fast and intuitive way to store your agenda, notes and meetings history.
- Mygoodpoints aims to provide every consumer with an online account where they can gather all of their unused loyalty points and airmiles and donate these points directly as cash to support charity projects of their choice - at home and overseas.
- NeuroSynergy Games: Brain Training 2.0: Neurosynergy Games is developing innovative clinical and recreational brain training software with the potential to dramatically outperform existing psychotherapeutic and pharmaceutical treatments for mental illness.
- Point the Way is an advanced GPS navigation system for the visually impaired. Point the Way is being developed and evaluated in collaboration with the National Council for the Blind of Ireland (NCBI).
- Royalty Stream Reporting records and monitors real-time use of both visual and audio digital assets.
- RTLCE: Real-time correlation of log events in software systems. RTLCE enables immediate identification of errors in complex systems saving time spent in costly problem determination activities.
- Sokohealth is launching an innovative Healthcare Marketplace focused on specific health procedures in the US market. It allows consumers to search, connect, book and pay directly with Healthcare Providers".
- Tapadoo's mobile tour app generator is a web-based service for generating iPhone Companion apps for touring bands.
