Pitch Perfect: Cork's Pre-Accelerator Cohort Brings the Heat
Republic of Work was proud to host the NDRC Pre-Accelerator Summer Batch 2026 Showcase Day
Startup energy filled Republic of Work on South Mall as 19 ambitious founders descended on Cork for the NDRC Pre-Accelerator Showcase Day. The culmination of six intensive weeks spent validating ideas, refining pitches, and building the foundations of businesses with real ambition.

The Pre-Accelerator is no easy ride. Over six weeks, founders work through customer discovery, product development, go-to-market strategy, financial modelling, and narrative refinement, all while juggling the day-to-day demands of building a company. By the time Showcase Day arrives, the transformation is unmistakable. Ideas that started as rough sketches of a problem worth solving had, by the final week, become sharp, confident pitches ready for an audience of investors, mentors, and fellow entrepreneurs.
The atmosphere on the day was electric. There was a buzz in the room that comes only from bringing driven, curious people together in one space. Founders pacing through their pitches one last time, mentors offering last-minute encouragement, and a real sense that something meaningful was about to happen.
One by one, founders took to the stage, each with three minutes to make their case. The ideas spanned a striking range of sectors and problems, but the common thread was clear: every team had spent six weeks getting closer to their customer, sharpening their thinking, and learning to tell their story with conviction. The strongest pitches were the ones where founders had clearly internalised the hard lessons of customer development, the kind of lessons that only come from getting out of the building and talking to real people.
Backing every founder throughout the programme were 25 supportive mentors, who gave their time generously to challenge assumptions, pressure-test ideas, and help teams sharpen their value propositions. That mentorship, practical, honest, and freely given is often what founders point to as the most valuable part of the experience, and it showed in the quality of pitches on the day.
A few things stood out for anyone thinking about applying to a future cohort. Founders who could articulate their problem with total clarity tended to have the strongest pitches. Teams that treated customer development as an ongoing practice, not a box to tick in week one, got noticeably further. And the founders who could tell a compelling story, not just present a product, were the ones who held the room's attention.
A huge congratulations to every founder who took part. Completing a programme like this while building a business takes real dedication, and the energy, ambition, and hard work on show throughout Showcase Day reflected that. Whether you were pitching, mentoring, judging, or simply soaking it all in, you helped make this one to remember.
Republic of Work is proud to be at the heart of Cork's startup and innovation ecosystem, and Showcase Days like this are exactly why. They are committed to supporting founders at every stage of their journey, and this is just one of many startup-focused events on their calendar.
